Prison service under fire

An official inquiry has exposed a catalogue of racist abuse and behaviour among staff and inmates in the Prison Service.

The Commission for Racial Equality found the service guilty of unlawful racial discrimination.

Far-right racist groups were found to be targeting prison staff for recruitment, added CRE chairman Trevor Philips.
