About us

|
The North Wales Police are responsible for policing over 2,429 square miles of Wales. This area equates to over 30% of the principality with a population of 629,000 inhabitants. The diverse nature of the area is exemplified by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park in the west to the cutting edge industries to the east.
Our vision is to improve life across the board for those who live, visit and conduct business here. Our aim is to create ‘a safer North Wales’.
To enable this to happen in line with the National Policing Plan, we have adopted the following priorities that are important to the communities in North Wales:
- Providing a citizen focused service to the public
Key areas include victims and witnesses, which responds to the needs of individuals and communities. This will in turn inspire confidence in the police, particularly amongst minority ethnic communities
- Tackling anti-social behaviour and disorder
Through our Dyna Ddigon (That’s Enough) initiative, we will be working to challenge anti-social behaviour.
- Continuing to reduce crime
Tackling burglary, vehicle crime, robbery and drug related crime in line with the Government’s Public Service Agreement targets
- Combating serious and organised crime
Across and within force boundaries
- Narrowing the justice gap
Increasing the number of offences brought to justice
- Increasing the time that front line officers spend within the community
- Reduction of violence and abuse suffered by vulnerable groups
In particular victims of domestic violence, child protection, or hate crime
These priorities will form firm foundations, which will allow North Wales Police to build safer communities throughout North Wales with our partner agencies.
