MPs to call for university admission reforms

MPs on the Commons Education Committee are set to recommend radical changes to university admission polices, including a large increase in the premium paid to universities for students from poorer backgrounds.

Formal training for admissions tutors and an end to the different application deadlines between Oxbridge and other universities are to be suggested.

A change to the system of applications on predicted A-Level results will also be recommended, something only possible if A-Level exams are brought forward to the spring.
