A senior clerk at the House of Commons has been charged with 10 counts of making indecent images of children.

Philip Lyon, 37, of Basildon, Essex will appear at Bow Street magistrates on September 10.

The clerk to MPs committees was charged following police raids at both the Palace of Westminster and at his home address.
