Child Protection

The National Deaf Children's Society

NDCS believes that all children have the right to protection from violent, threatening or degrading behaviour. Each child should be treated as an individual and valued equally regardless of age, gender, race, culture, deafness or disability.

The law as it stands fails deaf children: successful prosecutions against alleged perpetrators of abuse - be they individuals or institutions, are rare, even more so where cases involve deaf children with additional special needs.

NDCS is working in partnership with the NSPCC to put a stop to the abuse of deaf children.
