Government urged to raise research money

A report released today will call for more money to be ploughed into university research. The Lambert report will conclude that academics whose work directly benefits business should receive greater public funds.

The prime minister's business adviser Sir Christopher Evans has also called on the government to ease red tape restrictions on research and development tax credits.
