Children's minister Margaret Hodge will have to pay a legal bill and make a charity donation if she is to head off a libel action.

Child abuse victim Demetrious Panton has given the minister until the end of the day to meet his demand.

Hodge was criticised by former Labour deputy leader Roy Hattersley who said the minister should quit.
