Government rules out privacy law
Tessa Jowell has rejected calls for an end to press self-regulation and the introduction of a "privacy" law.
The culture secretary dismissed the recommendations of a select committee report into "privacy and media intrusion", saying that the government would not introduce any laws that might restrict the freedom of the press.
