Social service victims get new right to sue
Children wrongly taken into care or assessed as abused by mistake during the last 21 years are now able to sue the medical staff or social workers who made the decision.
A case decided at the High Court yesterday led to the landmark ruling that lifts the life-long immunity of professionals who decide abuse cases. The decision is likely to be appealed in the House of Lords.
