Junk mail firms pledge to change
Junk mail firms have pledged to cut the amount of paper they send to people's homes each year.
The industry, which spends £2 billion on sending 550,000 tons of paper, agreed with the government to publicise the Mailing Preference Service which removes households from mailing lists.
Britain has Europe's worst junk mail problem and only 13 per cent is recovered for recycling.
