A recent EURIM-IPPR e-Crime Study, to which the IEE made a major contribution, highlighted that the prevention and investigation of ‘cyber crime’ provides a whole new range of problems and that few small and medium sized enterprises have the full range of expertise to deal with a hi-tech attack . The framework ‘The Risk of Computer Crime to Small & Medium-sized Enterprises - What your business really needs to know’ , has been prepared by the National Hi Tech Crime Unit in conjunction with the IEE and others, and is intended to help SMEs to manage criminal risk to information systems and e-commerce.
