New law to tackle discrimination
New legislation banning workplace discrimination because of religion and sexuality will be unveiled by the government today.
Barbara Roche, the minister for social inclusion, will lay before parliament regulations making it an offence for an employer to act prejudicially against Muslims.
The regulations will also outlaw any harassment or discrimination at work against gay men and lesbians.
