Tories: Letwin under fire for 'grass' call

Oliver Letwin has drawn fire for his call for families, teachers, social workers and friends to report young drug users to the police.

Teenagers who then refused drug treatment would be tailed by police, an approach described by David Blunkett as "unworkable".

The shadow home secretary told the Tory faithful that a future Conservative administration would introduce compulsory rehabilitation programmes for youth criminals - and drug addicts.
