Labour to expand rights to flexi-work

New parents will get the right to request flexible hours when they return to work after the birth of a baby under plans announced by Labour on Wednesday.

Trade and Industry secretary Stephen Byers announced that a task force would be created to advise on how the pledge could be put into practice.

Byers said the pledge would help families get the balance right between home and family life.
