Welcome to Age Concern's Epolitix website. Here you will find specific information and links to our advocacy and campaigning work- all firmly based on the experiences of older people. For information about all other aspects of Age Concern's work please go to www.ageconcern.org.uk.
Government & Parliament
Government, Parliament and politics are major influences on the lives of older people. We actively promote older people's interests to Government and politicians from across the political parties. Our Government and Parliamentary Affairs team works with key decision makers to promote our campaigns, raise older people’s issues up the political agenda and influence Government policy.
We work hard to engage parliamentarians on a range of key issues of importance to older people; from income to transport, housing to employment.
We were delighted to be voted one of the most effective campaigning charities by MPs in a recent poll. (NFP Synergy 2005)

Campaigns
Campaigning can raise awareness, change policy and improve the lives of many thousands of older people.
Our campaign guide:
- explains what our campaigning has achieved recently
- provides the information you need on policy issues such as income, social care and health.
- explains how individuals can get involved in campaigns and work with their MP and the media to ensure the concerns and voices of older people are heard
Our vision is of a society providing a fair deal for older people. Older people should have access to the same opportunities as everyone else. Their contributions should be valued and they should be able to live with dignity and security.
Older people’s voices should be heard about decisions affecting their lives. For this vision to become a reality, we must campaign for the Government to improve the lives of the over-50s throughout the UK .
