Draft Cultural Property (Armed Conflict) Bill

The government will introduce a Bill that will ratify the 1954 Hague Convention and accede the to the convention’s two protocols of 1954 and 1999, which provides a system of protection for cultural property in armed conflict. The Bill will help to strengthen the UK’s commitment to maintaining its cultural heritage and formalises its responsibility to respect the cultural property of other nations.
