About PCG

PCG is funded by membership subscriptions The board of directors is made up of freelancers, appointed by a consultative council elected directly by the membership. Day to day, the organisation is managed and run by a full time staff from its offices in Uxbridge.

PCG offers a broad range of services to its members, including cover by its insurance policies, legal and tax helplines, draft contracts and regular events. We are also pioneering the first quality assurance certification scheme available across the whole small business sector; the PCG Quality Systems scheme provides members with UKAS-accredited ISO9001:2000 certification and has already produced its first certificated graduates.

Our objectives are aimed at helping members to improve and enhance their business prospects as well as continually improve the professionalism and perception of the freelance small business community. They include specifically:

  • To be the representative voice of freelancers in the UK
  • To position the freelance community as a vital partner in the social dialogue
  • To protect the businesses and livelihoods of members
  • To promote the positive benefits of freelancers and freelancing to business, government and society
  • To safeguard members’ interests within the tax and regulatory framework
  • To provide valuable guidance and information to members about a range of matters with the aim of helping them to develop and run their businesses successfully
