Welcome

The National Deaf Children's Society

Since 1944, The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) has campaigned to ensure that the challenge of childhood deafness can be a positive and rewarding one for deaf children, young deaf people, their families, carers and the professionals who support them.

NDCS owes a great deal of what has been achieved in helping deaf children, young people and their families to the support and commitment of politicians, policy makers and their colleagues across all political parties, in Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

We hope that this site helps you to rise to our challenge of ending the prejudice, disadvantage and discrimination facing more than 34,800 deaf children and young deaf people today.

Susan Daniels
Chief Executive, NDCS

NDCS uses the term 'deaf' to cover all types of hearing loss including temporary hearing loss such as glue ear.
