What’s New

Several new initiatives and resources will be launched during National Care Leavers’ Week 2007. The European EQUAL funded What Makes the Difference project (WMTD) will be disseminating a number of new tools for Care Leaving Teams including the ‘Preparation for Adult Life’ accredited training  materials, the ‘World of Work’ CD ROM produced in association with  the Who Cares? Trust and the Framework Tool designed with young people to assist Local Authorities in designing their Pledge for young people leaving care. These items and other essential tools for all those working with care leavers will be featured at the two main events in London and Leeds. See flyer for further details.

Following the launch last year of the Bollington employment scheme providing four professional trainee places for care leavers and other disadvantaged youngsters finding it difficult to secure employment, the Bryn Melyn Group Foundation will be announcing a driver training bursary in the North West, linked to employment and providing for full driver training including advanced skills.
