National Autistic Society

There are approximately 520,000 people affected by autistic spectrum disorders in the UK. The National Autistic Society (NAS) is the UK's foremost charity for people with autism, and for their parents and carers.

The NAS leads national and international initiatives providing a strong voice for autism and works in many areas to help people with an autistic spectrum disorders live their lives with as much independence as possible. The NAS has a membership of over 12,000, and a network of 60 branches.

The NAS represents autism at Westminster, Whitehall, the Scottish Parliament and the National Assembly for Wales. We respond to central and devolved government consultations, provide briefings to Parliamentarians, conduct policy research and issue press releases on a range of issues.
