Our Business

BG Group is an international natural gas company. It is responsible for 8% of UK gas production.

Formerly part of the state-owned British Gas, the company is now active in around 20 countries across the world – ranging from North America and Brazil to Egypt, Kazakhstan and India.

It is involved in all parts of the gas-chain – liquefied natural gas (LNG), transmission and distribution, and power but exploration and production is our centre of gravity and accounts for around 65% of our activity.
