Welcome to the Adult Learning Inspectorate microsite.

The Adult Learning Inspectorate is an executive non-departmental public body established under the Learning and Skills Act 2000. We began inspecting in April 2001.

Our role is to inspect and report on the quality of education and training for adults and young people funded by public money. We can also be commissioned to inspect private training provision in the UK and overseas.

Inspection is at the heart of the government's drive to increase skills and productivity and help individuals reach their full potential. We work closely with a wide range of partners, including the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), Jobcentre Plus and the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
