DPP calls for more time to hold terror suspects

The director of public prosecutions has told parliament that courts should have wider powers to detain terror suspects.

Ken Macdonald said authorities should be able to interview detainees "under compulsion".

He told the joint committee on human rights that courts need longer to prepare a prosecution to avoid cases being lost.
