Judges ponder a supreme site

The lord chancellor has struck a deal with senior judges over where the proposed new supreme court should sit.

Lord Falconer has pledged to provide a "prestigious" and "first-class" building which will provide for three hearing rooms, extensive library facilities, room for 12 supreme court justices, visiting judges and improved public facilities.

The Times says that Somerset House, the Middlesex Guildhall and the old Prudential Building in Holborn have emerged as the front-runners for the venue.
