Blunkett wants to get tough on booze culture

The home secretary is to make the case for tough measures to combat drunken and disorderly behaviour if voluntary initiatives announced as part of the government's alcohol strategy fail to deal with the problem.

Ministers hope the new drive will reduce binge drinking and reduce the anti-social behaviour linked to licensed premises.
