Vaz attacks Blair over euro delay
The prime minister has been accused of failing to fulfil his promise of a “definitive change of gear” in the way that Europe and the single currency are discussed.
Keith Vaz, a former minister for Europe, says that the euro has been mentioned in just 14 of 158 speeches made by cabinet ministers since June 9 last year, when the Treasury published its assessment saying that Britain was not yet ready to join the single currency.
