MoD 'rejected' troop life cover
An offer to cover British troops serving in Iraq with life assurance was rejected by the MoD just weeks before hostilities began, the Times claims.
This was despite leading insurance firms refusing to cover troops serving overseas or who were on standby to go to the Gulf.
The offer from the Pension Annuity Friendly Society - which provides policies for the armed forces - would have cost just over £21 million.
