Extradition denied to Argentina

The Home Office has rejected Argentina's request for the extradition of a senior Iranian diplomat.

Hadi Soleimanpour, a former ambassador to Argentina, is accused of being involved in the bombing of a Jewish community centre in 1994.

However, the arrest warrant will now be cancelled after the decision by home secretary David Blunkett.

"The UK takes its international obligations very seriously, particularly in matters of terrorism," said a statement.
