Today's Guardian reports that Sir Kevin Tebbit, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Defence, is personally involved in an alleged cover-up of major fraud and corruption involving a British defence company.

Sir Kevin, the MoD's top official, is said to have failed to follow up for two years allegations that the arms firm BAE Systems ran a slush fund designed to bribe Saudi officials.
