Watchdog examines NHS computer scheme
The government's spending watchdog is to review a £2.3 billion scheme which aims to computerise large sections of the NHS.
Under normal circumstances the National Audit Office only begins such investigations once projects have been implemented.
But the watchdog confirmed yesterday that it has already contacted the Department of Health to investigate the scheme, which will bring wide-ranging changes to technology used in the health service.
