Whitehall slammed for ignoring research

Ministers and civil servants make too little use of the findings that come from the £1.4 billion the government spends on research each year, according to a new study by the National Audit Office.

According to the spending watchdog, when good research is completed, it is often not well disseminated, either within or outside Whitehall, and much of the work that is done could be better-focused.
