Sweet advert ban call

The Fabian Society has published a report urging restrictions and bans on adverts targeted at children for sweets and fizzy drinks in a bid to tackle obesity.

Author of "All's well that starts well," Dartford MP, Dr Howard Stoate, believes "we stand on the brink of an obesity epidemic that could wipe years off children's lives".

"We, that is, the government, parents and companies, have a responsibility to act now," he argues.
