PM admits waiting lists are too long
In response to questioning from Iain Duncan Smith in the Commons yesterday, Tony Blair admitted that waiting times for patients requiring emergency treatment are too long.
But the prime minister added: "As a result of additional funding in the health service there are now 100 more consultants, there are 600 more nurses in the last year alone and there are 700 more acute beds."
