Tories pledge to take politics out of classroom

Giving more power to headteachers, scrapping AS Levels and allowing parents to establish their own schools will form the basis of Conservative education policy, Damian Green has said.

The shadow education secretary said his party would be putting its trust in parents and teachers as it attempted to "take the politicians out of the classroom".
