London mayor Ken Livingstone will today accuse the Metropolitan police of institutionalised sexism and having a "covert macho culture".

Sir John Stevens, the Metropolitan Police's commissioner, has called for evangelical Christians to join up to fight crime.

He claimed that "evangelical fire" was needed to target disaffected youths.
