A disabled woman claimed yesterday she has suffered from intense psychological problems after being refused a job on Tony Blair's 1997 general election campaign team.

Helen Garrod says she was refused a job by Anji Hunter, the prime minister's personal assistant, because she was disabled.

Hunter denies the allegation.
