In a report on the Ministry of Defence's £19 billion spares inventory, the National Audit Office yesterday found significant misvaluations.

Mistakes included valuing brass nuts at £83 million when they were actually worth £1.17, and computers valued at £192 million but actually worth less than £2 million.
