Tony Blair has been accused of misleading MPs over cancelled hospital operations after official figures revealed that the number of cancelled operations had risen over the past four years.

Blair told Iain Duncan Smith last week that that cancelled surgery had risen only because the number of patients had treated since 1997 had risen.
