Blair refuses to restrict rail strikes

During questions from Iain Duncan Smith yesterday, Tony Blair rejected any plan to restrict strikes in essential services such as railways.

The Tory leader came out in favour of workers facing penalties and the possibility of being sacked for striking but the prime minister told him: "I do not think that is the right way forward."
