Over 100,000 pay to avoid NHS wait
Over 100,000 people paid for private healthcare for themselves last year rather than waiting for NHS treatment, according to a survey of 400 family doctors released today.
The survey by the internet research company Medix found that 78 per cent of doctors believe that the number of patients without private health insurance who had paid for treatment had grown over the past five years.
