Clarke rapped for Euro gaffe

The Labour Party chairman, Charles Clarke, has been corrected by Downing Street, after publicly claiming that Britain should join the Euro even if there were no economic benefits. A spokesman insisted that entry into the single European currency relies on the passing of the five economic tests.
