The government is considering plans to extend the official definition of disability to include those newly-diagnosed with HIV and cancer, Maria Eagle, the disability minister has told ePolitix.com.

Following pressure from disability groups the minister said the government would examine ways to extend disabled entitlements to 40,000 people in these categories.
