Blair stays coy over euro
Tony Blair was attacked by both supporters and detractors of the euro after his New Year message said it would be "massively in our interest to join" but did not say when.
Former Tory deputy prime minister Michael Heseltine accused the prime minister of cowardice saying it was the sort of issue where the country's leader had to say "follow me over the top".
