No rush for euro

Assessing the lessons that can already be learned from the launch of the single currency, the FT's Ed Crooks suggests Britain does not need to rush a decision and calls for a shorter transitional period if the country does decide to sign-up to the euro.

However, today's Mail reports that a number of high street chains will accept the new currency in 15 days time.

A survey for the paper found that 32 out of 105 leading retailers will take the euro.
