More patients wait over a year for operations
The percentage of NHS patients waiting more than 12 months for surgery has risen to its highest level since 1997 in 50 of England's 95 health authorities.
The figures, given in a written answer by health minister John Hutton, also reveal wide regional disparities in waiting list performance.
