Hundreds of French Marks and Spencer workers marched on the retailer's flagship Oxford Street store yesterday in protest against its continental closures.

The closures, which breached European laws on workers consultation, have re-ignited the debate over EU legislation opposed by the UK to give workers more say and information over redundancies.
