Policy & Research
Since 1983 the Wise Group has helped more than 25,000 unemployed people to access labour market opportunities. Over this time we have developed considerable expertise in working with people who face particular challenges in finding work including the long term unemployed, lone parents, people with disability and health problems and ex-offenders.
Our innovative programmes are all built around our central belief, that good quality work is the best means by which to tackle inequality, poverty and disadvantage.
Our work also demonstrates that joined up approaches to employability can actively contribute to a range of other social and environmental issues such as health, the physical environment, fuel poverty, carbon emissions, community safety and offending rates.
The role of the Wise Group's Policy and Research Unit is to make use of this practical experience in order to contribute to public policy. Some of our most recent contributions to policy consultations and our perspectives papers are available here.
