Stakeholder Interview
Stewart Dalgarno - UK Timber Frame Association |
Do you care about the quality, durability and design standards of our homes and other buildings?
So do we.
The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) is the trade association for UK timber frame manufacturers and the sector Established in 2002, we now represent the interests of over 80% of the timber frame manufacturers in the UK.
Our job is to:
-
Explain timber frame to the construction industry, to policy makers and to the general public;
-
Provide information and guidance, both technical and consumer;
-
Promote higher standards through our Q-Mark quality scheme and training services;
-
Help all sectors of UK construction exploit the benefits of timber frame - speed of build, thermal and acoustic excellence, durability, environmental excellence and design flexibility.
We work closely with Government in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, as well as Europe. We also liaise with NGOs such as the WWF, and housing and forestry industry representatives, including BRE, NHBC, Zurich Municipal, Centre for Timber Engineering, TRADA and Wood For Good.
