Education

The Academy is committed to the support of engineering education from the sixth form through to postgraduate level and continuing professional development. We run a wide variety of education schemes and awards.

A broad range of pre-university and undergraduate schemes aimed at the engineers of tomorrow. This programme is supported in particular by the Gatsby Charitable Foundation.

Work experience, gap year training, university tasters, practical problem-solving.

Industrial and business experience, personal development courses, funding for projects.

Conference grants, personal development training, funding for university study and business school courses, industrial secondments.

Industry-academia links aimed at producing teaching materials based on case studies: the two schemes in the programme cover the principles of engineering design and design for sustainable development.

Sainsbury Management Fellowships in the Life Sciences and the Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurs Scheme.

This campaign is about the way the engineering community can give young people the opportunity to do - one more thing - , engaging in established hands-on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) activities. It also aims to bring coherence to the many STEM activities and schemes already in existence, thereby increasing their impact and effectiveness.
