Corporate Responsibility
We recognise that our business activities have an influence on the environment and are clear that we have a duty to carry these out in an environmentally responsible manner. A number of initiatives are being undertaken across the company to ensure that we deliver an environmentally sensitive approach to our business. We also take seriously our responsibility to the wider community in other respects. We have a strong code of ethics and a clear set of policies and initiatives designed to make a significant charitable and societal contribution.
Examples of charitable and community involvement in the UK are:
- The Basingstoke Alzheimer's Society - providing funding to enable increased support for carers in the area where the company's head office is based
- Child Victims of Crime - donating a sum in place of sending company Christmas Cards
- Provision of Maxolon product for the pharmacy supporting the athletes at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester
- Financial Support for the 2002 British Transplant Games
- Matching funds raised by head office employees in a sponsored run to support Cancer Research
- Financial Support for the National Association of Crohn's and Colitis
- As part of its marketing support activity, (jointly with marketing partner J&J) funding for educational meetings for doctors, the memoryclinic.com website, provision of educational materials and funding of memory clinic nurses and a hospital registrar to assist with the support of Alzheimer's treatment.
- Sponsoring Marie Curie and helping them to raise awareness in skin cancer
